CLASSIC TEAM LOTUS & MEMENTO EXCLUSIVES PARTNERSHIP

Classic Team Lotus and Memento Exclusives have announced a new partnership that will see the memorabilia experts produce a limited run of full-scale heritage Show Cars.

Best known as the Show Car supplier to F1® and for operating the officially licenced platform, F1® Authentics, Memento Exclusives has produced perfect replicas of current-gen cars for teams across the grid since 2019. These creations are regularly seen at livery launches, exhibitions, circuits and partner activations around the world. Scarce quantities are made available for private purchase, making them sought-after showpieces for premium collectors.

The announcement of this new project in partnership with Classic Team Lotus is particularly significant as it marks the first heritage edition produced by the motorsport-valley based manufacturer. The collaboration will see the business entrusted with archive drawings and data that has never been shared for this purpose before, with direct collaboration from the team in Hethel, ensuring a perfect recreation.

Team Lotus remains the fifth most successful constructor in F1® history, winning seven Constructors’ World Championships after its original inception by Colin and Hazel Chapman. Since entering its first Grand Prix at Monaco in 1958, until the final appearance in 1994, an array of notable drivers represented the team including world champions, Jim Clark, Graham Hill, Jochen Rindt, Emerson Fittipaldi, Mario Andretti, Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, Nelson Piquet and Mika Häkkinen.

Classic Team Lotus protects, preserves and promotes the history of the iconic Formula One team, responsible for licensing opportunities and providing restoration, maintenance and operation of historic Team Lotus Formula cars; all from the original team factory facility in Norfolk.

The exact car and livery being recreated as a modern-day Show Car will be revealed by Memento Exclusives and Classic Team Lotus later this summer, with a promise that the chosen edition holds ‘historic significance’ for enthusiasts.

Clive Chapman, Managing Director of Classic Team Lotus, said:
“I am delighted that Memento Exclusives will apply their expertise to limited edition Show Cars celebrating Team Lotus. They have built a reputation for Show Car excellence that matches our own approach to achieving perfection. We are excited to highlight special moments in motorsport history, made possible by a great team working together.”

Barry Gough, Founder & CEO, Memento Exclusives, added:
“We are proud to have been entrusted by Classic Team Lotus to offer this incredibly rare opportunity for a handful of collectors. This project not only represents the continued expansion of our Show Car programme, but also how modern innovations can reignite the past. We are excited to reveal the historic significance of the car we are recreating later this summer, offering generations of fans timeless ways to Own The Moment.”
