Our First Ever Show Cars Leave for China
The final weeks of 2022 saw the team finishing off the first of the three showcars we have been building. By the first week of the New Year the Mark I, Eleven and Type 99T were heading out to China to to help tell the story of Lotus to its new audience and grow the Lotus brand in China and the far east. The final two showcars, Types 25 and 79, which are nearing completion will travel out in early March.
Most of the crew who worked on the build of the three cars were able to come out for a somewhat chilly, end of 2022 Team photo shoot with the three cars that cover nearly 40-years of production. What a development from the 1948, Austin 750cc powered MkI to the fully active-suspension Honda V6-turbo powered Type 99T driven by Ayrton Senna and Satoru Nakajima during the 1987 season.
January 10th saw Tom, Luke and Lewis help the driver get the cars safely loaded and strapped down for the long journey to China. Well done everyone on the Team!
