A wet but wonderful weekend at Silverstone Classic!

This weekend Classic Team Lotus went down to Silverstone to take part in the  Silverstone Classic three day event. 

Despite the slightly wet conditions, a dazzling display of historic motorsport stole the show at the 30th edition of The Classic.

During the Formula Junior races, Andrew Beaumont and Lee Mowle both completed the 2 wet races in their Lotus 22 Formula Junior race cars gaining some 24 places between them in race one on their way to strong finishes. Race two on Sunday morning was again a tough one which involved off track moments for them but again both cars did very well to finish in the very tricky conditions.

Classic Team Lotus also took part in the HGPCA Pre-66 Grand Prix Cars races where Andrew Beaumont, Teifion Salisbury and Lee Mowle all raced Lotus 18’s finishing all races entered. An exciting race on Sunday in changeable wet/dry conditions. Great racing enjoyed by all three drivers!

Lee Mowle raced his 1965 Jaguar E Type towards the end of the day on Sunday on a drying track gaining 17 places at the finish and thoroughly enjoying the experience whilst getting used to the handling of this newly completed car for the  International Trophy for Classic GT Cars (Pre 66)!
