Ayrton Senna Tribute Sao Paulo
Classic Team Lotus is proud to have run the 1985 Portuguese GP winning Lotus type 97T/2 at last weekend’s Ayrton Senna tribute in Sao Paulo.
Emerson and Felipe were entrusted with the driving honours
Chris Dinnage was mechanic on 97T/2 when Ayrton won his first Grand Prix at Estoril in 1985. 34 years later, Chris was instrumental in air freighting chassis 2 out to Sao Paulo for an emotional tribute event, in the lead-up to the Brazilian GP, this weekend.
Chris travelled on to Sao Paulo from the previous weekend’s Masters Historic F1 support race at the USGP. He had Ayrton’s 97T ready for when Emerson and Felipe appeared to do the driving, in front of tens of thousands.
A special moment for Chris, together with Rosannah Fittipaldi, Bianca Senna, Emerson, Leonardo Senna, Viviane Senna and Emerson’s son.
