2018 was the year when the weather finally caught up with this start-of-the-season meeting at the Goodwood Motor Circuit.  Katsu Kubota was there to race his Lotus type 30 in the Gurney Cup, in honour of Dan Gurney.  Chris Dinnage and ‘Uncle’ Henry Potter were there to attend the car.  They got busy after a gearbox issue in practise caused Katsu to have a moment at the chicane.  Sadly their best efforts were unable to fix the car and it had to be withdrawn, with workshop time necessary to have her ready again for later this season.
