Team Lotus Type 87

Schemed as a conventional car in the first half of 1980 with Type 88 running gear inside the Type 87 body. Was resurrected after Type 88 political problems and ran in both Essex and John Player Special liveries. 1981 to 1982.

(Initially cars No. 1, 2 & 3 had I.D. numbers 1, 2 & 3, then their I.D. numbers were changed to 2, 3 & 4, in keeping with the production numbers of the composite monocoques used for their construction.)
